Please re-read my comment. What I’m saying is: Race doesn’t exist (outside social constructs). The only reason to identify as white is to gain access to a system of unfair, unearned privilege (or to own up to the unearned privilege and disown it, which most white folks don’t do). The only reason to identify as a person of color is to find refuge in the midst of white supremacy. I’m not saying people shouldn’t identify as multi-racial or bi-racial, I’m trying to move the conversation out of a bio-identity frame. Racial identities are social constructs, not biological ones. For instance, saying I’m black, not white, isn’t the same as saying I’m a German Shepard, not a pit bull.
