99 Problems…

…That Black Males have been taught to think that voicing their problems is “self pity”. That your black students look at you as if  there is a problem when you tell them that indeed, you do care for them, you do expect them to live up to high standards, you do believe in them… that’s a problem. For those same students to defy and repudiate your instructions in favor of the same instructions from your white female or otherwise non-black male colleagues. For Black men to be asked: “Why are you so angry?”. So many problems.

“The Internet’s been an important space for communities of color to tell their own stories and advocate for issues they don’t often see in film or on television. SOPA puts that independence in jeopardy. It’ll add yet another barrier to how and what we can communicate.”-Colorlines Magazine.
